Pintados

The Pintados Festival is a cultural-religious celebration in Tacloban, Philippines based on the body-painting traditions of the ancient tattooed "pintados" warriors.

Spent about 6 hours on this assignment.
Trying to push myself to another level.
Lets get it.

9.4.2010

Last time I went to the art supply warehouse I only got to stare at the spray paint section.  This time I bought some! yeah yee yeah yee!
Spray paint has always been intimidating to me, why? I don't know. Give me a marker and I'll go to town. Give me a can, I am paralyzed for about 5 minutes before I go at it.
Still learning how to handle the cans. This time I learned alot.
1. Nice and Slow. I usually rush so the paint doesn't drip. then I realized that I wasn't working with colorplace anymore.
2. Have a plan. Tried to spell Virchoo and I ended up with Vir. Should have spaced it out better.
3. Get a mask & Get close. I tend to stand back so the fumes don't suffocate me, but its best to get up close and personal with your art.
